Product Description Here are twelve instrumental renditions of Christmas carols containing strong Celtic/Appalachian influences in a follow-up recording to the acclaimed hymns compilation, “A Quiet Knowing - Canticles For The Heart (ArkMusic/AKD-1504).” Joining the popular contemporary instrumental duo, Jeff Johnson (keyboards) and Brian Dunning (flute, whistles & accordion) is violinist, John Fitzpatrick. Also featured are guitarist, Tim Ellis; percussionist, Gregg Williams, cellist, Jami Sieber and bass guitarist, Phil Baker. About the Artist Jeff Johnson and Brian Dunning’s successful collaboration has established them as one of Contemporary Celtic instrumental’s mainstays. Their releases include “Byzantium - The Book of Kells & St. Aidan’s Journey” (NPR’s Echoes Top 25 of 2000) and their latest compilation, “The Enduring Story - A Retrospective.” These recordings feature the unique collaboration of music based on the writings of best selling novelist, Stephen Lawhead (“Byzantium,” “Song Of Albion”). In addition, their songs have been included on some of the most successful compilation releases within this genre including the “Celtic Christmas” and “Winter Solstice” series by Windham Hill and Hearts of Space’s “Celtic Twilight” series. Their collaboration spans the globe with Dunning residing outside Dublin, Ireland with his wife and three boys and Johnson home on the San Juan islands in the Washington state with his wife and daughter. They are joined on this recording by Belfast violinist, John Fitzpat! rick and others.
