The Timo Boll ZLC is an improvement upon a regular carbon blade, providing a balance of both power and touch. What makes this blade stand out is the flexibility of the ZL fibers woven with the carbon fiber plies, enabling players to hold the ball on the racket longer than a traditional carbon blade. This increases dwell time and is perfect for aggressive attacking players that would like better feel from their blade. The rubber recommendation for this blade is the Dignics 80. This rubber, currently used by Jun Mizutani, has a medium throw angle with a great balance of speed and spin. Players looking to add top-tier spin to their game should consider Dignics 09C, the newest in the Dignics line. This rubber shines when used in conjunction with a blade such as this, with the ZLC plies just inside the outermost ply. To add more grip to this blade you can get the Soft Grip Tape, which provides grip and comfort to the racket handle. Another great choice for racket care is adding side tape to the edge, helping protect the wood in the event it is hit on the table.
