Product Description Keepin' Time By the River by Chuck Pyle Review "A masterwork of southwestern acoustic sound that's rich, colorful, and oftentimes funny." -- Acoustic Guitar, June 1999

From the Label "Chuck Pyle has come to that time in an artists career when his followers begin to wait expectantly for his next piece of work, hoping for the latest news of themselves, reassured that someone out there is writing down their life, their language, and their generation with news of the constant things we make invisible by our busy lives." From the Artist "You can't push the river" is a favorite quote of mine from Frits Perls. I believe he meant we only change so fast, and some things won't change until we're ready to let go of the old ways of seeing them. All dreams are coming true. They just may not be the ones we thought we were dreaming. Regardless, life is irrevocably right. For me, keeping time by the river is about humility. Life was here long before we were. It will be here long after we're gone. And we may ask what is given to us to help make the world better. The answer is everywhere. We are given each other. My humble thanks to each and every one of you for "keeping time by the river" with me through all the rough waters. About the Artist To some, singer/songwriter Chuck Pyle is a walking contradiction. One reviewer labeled him "the Zen Cowboy" for his delightful but seemingly at-odds mix of upbeat New Age humor and straight-from-the-saddle poetry as a contradiction. Deciding to, as he says, "ride the horse in the direction it's going," Pyle has taken the nickname to heart while honing a uniquely humorous and insightful songwriting and performing style. An innovator of a new "Colorado sound," Pyle writes songs that are at once complex and enchantingly funny, layered with imagery that includes haunted violins, heroic police officers and confused 12-steppers. He compresses a story to it's very essence, quoting bumper stickers, world leaders and old cowboys then mixing in his own off-the-wall insights. His songs have been recorded by a number of popular artists, including Jerry Jeff Walker, John Denver, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Suzy Bogguss and Chris LeDoux. But along with being a lauded songwriter, Pyle is an excellent performer in his own right. He has developed a reputation as a powerful, push-the-envelope guitar stylist, and has taught guitar seminars at such prestigious events as the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop. He has also written a one-man theater piece called Zen Gallon Hat (A One-Fact Play) and a quote book called The Zen Cowboy Book of Wisdom. Chuck Pyle has lived on the front-range of Colorado for over 30 years and spent most of that time traveling the country playing theaters, festivals, colleges and coffeehouses. He has four albums to his credit plus the theme song he composed for the PBS series, Spirit of Colorado, beamed world-wide by satellite. Ver más
