Moon Wheel, 60 year kinetic lunar phase calendar

This is a kinetic sculpture intended to be played with and enjoyed visually but that is also capable of calculating the phase of the moon on every day of any month for the next 60 years. -First use the outer dial labeled 2020 - 2080 to select the year. -Then with the year set, go to the inner dial labeled 0-3, 4-7, 8-9 to select the correct row according to the last number in that year and follow it around clockwise to the last number in the selected year and the corresponding set of months labeled JFMAMJJASOND. -Within this set there will be multiple indicator lines visible in the windows but only one can line up perfectly within a window at a time, use this scale to select the month. -Then the middle dial labeled 1 - 31 will show the phase of the moon for every day of that month. In months with less than 31 days including leap years the remainders can be ignored This is my own original concept and design and to the best of my knowledge there is nothing else like it. It comes with a table top stand that completes the circle when in place and can be removed to expose the wheel to enjoy the visually hypnotic motion or to set the current month. It looks precise and delicate but it is made of maple finished with polyurethane, very sturdy, meant to be handled and used for at least 60 years and fully engraved so the writing and indications will never wear away.
