The WX2 acts as a central control unit (benchtop controller) for the new, intelligent soldering irons, solder fume extractors and preheating plates. The station supports simultaneous operation of two 120-watt tools, and it features a blue LED backlit LCD screen that's viewable from all angles as well as multiple language display. The intuitive interface features six touch keys with radius finger guide for turn-and-click navigation. A multi-purpose USB port can be used in conjunction with software for monitoring, parameterising, and data logging (included with the software package). The fine, thin WXMP soldering pencil is suited for work under a microscope, while the WXMT tweezers are ideal for soldering and desoldering small SMD parts. The WXMP uses RT series tips, WXMT uses RTW series cartridges.All Weller WX tools have an integrated sensor system with communications, signal processing, and memory built into the handle. This allows control parameters to be stored in the tool's internal memory, not in the WX station. Removal of the tool from its safety rest will switch the tool back to its operating temperature, eliminating the need for stop-and-go stands.
