Bob Marley’s role in the global success of Reggae music is nothing short of profound. Such is the extent of his influence that today, some twenty years since his tragic passing, his music is as popular as ever. Bob Marley and The Wailers started recording as early as 1963 in Jamaica. Following six years of local hits and having worked with a number of different producers, the group started a collaboration in 1969 with Lee "Scratch" Perry, which proved crucially important to their future development. Perry brought more focus to the trio‘s rebel stance and also recruited the bass and drum team of the Barrett brother, who became an integral part of The Wailer’s sound.
