In The Moon of Wintertime, Lydia offers a fresh interpretation of some very old Christmas pieces, writes her own version of the Epiphany story, and makes her debut on the Appalachian Dulcimer. Full of mystery and merriment, this album can be enjoyed during the Christmas season and quite possibly throughout the year. Produced by Kurt Scherer and Lydia McCauley. Artista biografía LYDIA MCCAULEY combines Folk, World Music and New Age elements in an intoxicating celebration of life! Reminiscent of Medieval, Celtic, and Appalachian music, Lydias original songwriting is laced with traditional tones that take her audience on a journey through the past and into the present. Her concerts are at once joyful, poignant and luminous, touched with a sense of humor. Alongside her husband and co-producer Kurt Scherer, McCauley formed the independent music label BRIMSTONE MUSIC in 1996. The couple began building a cadre of five talented musicians culled from an eclectic bouquet of musical influences. With great fanfare, McCauleys multi-talented ensemble began performing original and traditional music at major festivals, performing art centers, and various venues on the West Coast from British Columbia, Canada to Southern California. The magical stage setting of McCauleys performances has captivated and transported audiences to ancient times, and "the mystical power of her singing immediately enthralls her audience and invites them to a place of enchantment." Lydia and Kurt have produced three albums of primarily original music and a fourth recording of obscure Christmas and wintertime songs. Their critically acclaimed CD releases are currently featured on NPR radio, and syndicated radio programs such as Atlantic Crossing, Contemporary Celtic-World Radio.
