Tribulus terrestris is an annual herb. Stems supine, compound leaves even pinnate; Leaflets opposite; Branches 20-60 cm long, even pinnate compound leaves, 1.5-5 cm long; Leaflets opposite, 3-8 pair, rectangular or obliquely oblong, 5 -- 10 x 2 -- 5 mm, apex acute or obtuse, base slightly subfamily, pubescent, entire; Flowers axillary, pedicels shorter than leaves, flowers yellow; Sepals 5, persistent; Petals 5; Stamens 10, at base of disk, base with scaly glands, ovary 5-rowed, stigma 5-lobed, 3-4 ovules per chamber; Flowering period from May to August; Fruit schizocellum 5, hard, 4-6 mm long, glabrous or hairy, central margin with 2 sharp prickles, lower often 2 small sharp prickles, the rest of the body often nodules; Fruit season from June to September.
